Ivory & Ink Weddings at The Continental Sorrento Wedding Open Day

When The Continental Sorrento reached out and asked me to showcase wedding stationery at their annual Wedding Open Day, I couldn’t have said yes fast enough. This iconic Mornington Peninsula venue is known for its timeless elegance and modern coastal style, and being chosen as the featured stationery designer for their event was such an honour.

Held in the heart of Sorrento, The Continental’s Wedding Open Day brought together a handpicked selection of local and luxury suppliers, giving engaged couples the chance to explore the space, meet vendors, and get inspired for their big day. I was so excited to be one of them.

For the event, I created a full display of wedding day stationery, carefully curated to complement the venue’s modern-luxe aesthetic. My stand included a full wedding suite of signage: a welcome sign to greet guests, a seating chart, bar signs, menus, and place cards, all designed to reflect the elegant yet coastal vibe of the venue. I wanted couples to visualise exactly how their day could look when it’s all tied together with cohesive, thoughtful design.

The menus and place cards featured clean typography with subtle detailing, giving a refined but relaxed feel that fits perfectly in a space like The Continental. I also showcased signage shapes and formats from my Classic and Luxe ranges, including freestanding signage options and designs with QR codes for digital elements like websites or RSVPs.

The response from couples and the event team was so lovely, and it was a great opportunity to meet people face to face, talk through their wedding plans, and show what’s possible with custom stationery. Lots of couples were surprised at how impactful good signage and paper details can be, especially when it comes to pulling a wedding theme together across the venue.

It was also a great way to show off the range of print and card stock options I offer, from smooth whites to textured tones, digital ink to metallic finishes. I brought sample packs for couples to take home, so they could get a real feel for the materials.
